British vocalist/instrumentalist James Bay began 2018 with the release of his single, “Wild Love,” a track with soothing vocals and just the right amount of synth that was fans’ first taste since his 2015 album, Chaos and the Calm. In addition to dropping the track, Bay announced his first shows of 2018 – a total of ten dates, kicking off in London and ending in Toronto.
This week, James performed at the Fillmore in San Francisco, California. He is currently promoting his upcoming album, Electric Light. The evening was filled with performances of songs expected to be on the album, which will drop May 18th. Included were tracks, “Just For Tonight,” “Us,” “Slide,” and “Wasted on Each Other” and of course, his newest hit single, “Pink Lemonade,” the video for which was just dropped days ago.
The sold out crowd had an incredibly high energy, fans singing along to every time, often times louder than James himself was singing, including when tracks such as “Let it Go” and “Hold Back The River” were performed, James happily strumming his guitar a step back from the microphone as the crowd took the lead. The thirteen-track setlist was a fantastic mix of old favorites and what will certainly be new favorites with his brand new, unreleased tracks.
